And it's not like Windows will open these blazing fast it's just that on the Mac it's much, much worse, as it can exasperating to work on.Many people and companies use Microsoft Excel datasheets to store data. The tables aren't small - but these aren't large datasets either.

The tables I use mostly are based on structured tables, often times with some conditional formatting (which I do clean up periodically reducing it to the bare minimum), and even some vlookup's here and there. It's just sluggish and erratic, and this can be noticeable even on smaller files, though it starts to mess with one's workflow when you're working with a few tens of columns and large hundreds of rows.

Excel for mac 2016 issues Pc#
I use Excel files back and forth on both Windows and Mac (both updated versions of Excel) and it's very clear that an underspec'd PC will cope better with most tasks than my i7 powered MBPr. I have been using Excel on my MBPr 2014 (i7, 16Gb, SSD, nVidia GT750M 2Gb) for the last few years now and even though Excel has improved quite significantly over time, when compared with the Windows version, one of the worst issues I have with it is poor performance on moderately sized worksheets.
